Faith & Racial Healing 2024-Fall_web link

Do you want to address racism in your community, but don’t know where to begin?

This nine-week program guides participants in understanding the history of racism in the United States, and opens the conversations to how we might work toward true reconciliation with God and restoration with one another. This is an ecumenical program, created by the JustFaith Ministries, based on Christian beliefs.
Open to all Livingston County residents regardless of religious affiliation. Sponsored by the Faith & Race Project, Faith & Justice Workgroup of the Livingston Diversity Council.
  • Facilitators: Suzanne Everett (United Methodist), Leo Hanifin (Catholic), Nicole Matthews-Creech (Livingston Diversity Council)
  • Meets: Thursdays, Sept. 19 – Nov. 21, 6:30-8:30 pm at First UMC – Brighton Campus  (Note: opening session is 6-9 pm)
  • Cost: Livingston Diversity Council and local churches underwriting class fees ($35 per person for the Just Faith curriculum). Books and materials are extra and may be purchased on your own or through Just Faith when you register (about $43). There may be additional costs for the Immersion Experience (Nov. 9, Wright Museum of African American History).
