The United Methodist Foundation of Michigan announced that the Rev. Dr. Sherry Parker-Lewis will serve as the Senior Director of Church Relations, beginning July 1, 2020. This newly created position is designed to support pastors and local church leaders with their ministry, vision, and leadership. Rev. Dr. Parker-Lewis will guide congregations to live as generous communities of faith, coach pastors to be inspiring steward leaders, and offer workshops to increase giving and transform lives.

Pastor Sherry has served as senior pastor at First United Methodist Church since 2008. She announced in September that she would be leaving this congregation in July 2020 as her husband, the Rev. George Lewis, would be retiring. The couple has bought a home in Mattawan, Michigan.
